⏱️ Bandwidth / Download Time Calculator
You see a download progress bar say "2 hours remaining" and wonder if it is right. This calculator does the math: file size + connection speed = download time. Or work backwards — given the time you can wait, what speed do you need? Useful for picking ISP plans, estimating cloud transfer windows, or arguing with your roommate about WiFi.

Why does my actual download not match this?
Internet overhead (TCP, HTTP, retransmits) eats 5-10% of theoretical bandwidth. ISP throttling, WiFi loss, and server limits eat more. Real-world speed is typically 70-90% of theoretical.
Mbps vs MBps?
Mb is megabit (lowercase b). MB is megabyte (uppercase B). 1 byte = 8 bits. So 100 Mbps ≈ 12.5 MBps. ISPs quote Mbps; file sizes use MB / GB.
About this calculator
Bandwidth / Download Time Calculator runs entirely in your browser using standard formulas. No data is sent to any server. We don't share your inputs with lenders, brokers, or anyone else — there's no funnel and no follow-up email.
